Privacy policy
What we collect when you use this site, who else touches it, and how to get it back or have it deleted.
The short version
We collect the project details you choose to send us through the enquiry form, plus anonymous statistics about which pages get read. We do not sell anything to anyone, we do not run advertising trackers, and this site sets no cookies — which is why you are not being asked to dismiss a cookie banner.
Who we are
Fonseca Builders operates this website at https://www.fonsecabuilds.com. We are a residential building company serving Southern Indiana and the Louisville Metro. If you need to reach us about anything on this page, the contact details are at the bottom.
What you send us directly
When you fill in the enquiry form, we receive whatever you put in these fields:
- Name
- So we know who we are talking to. Required.
- Phone and email
- So we can reply. Required, because a project enquiry we cannot answer is no use to either of us.
- Project type
- Custom home, remodel, barndominium, pole barn, or design-build. Required.
- Project location
- The city, or the lot, so we know whether it is in our area.
- Timeline and budget range
- Optional. They help us give you a useful answer instead of a vague one.
- Your message
- Whatever you want to tell us about the project. Optional.
- How you heard about us
- Optional, and only used to understand what is working.
We use these details to reply to you, prepare an estimate, and keep a record of the conversation if the project goes ahead. We do not add you to a marketing list, and we will not pass your details to another company to sell to you.
What is collected automatically
Anonymous page statistics
We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics service, to see which pages people read and which links they use. It records the page address, the page title, and a timestamp. It does not set cookies, does not build a profile of you across sites, and does not give us a way to identify you personally.
We also record that certain things happened — a phone number was tapped, a service was clicked, a frequently-asked question was opened, an enquiry form was started or submitted. When a form is submitted, the statistics record only the non-identifying selections: project type, timeline, budget range, and how you heard about us. Your name, phone number, email address, and message are never sent to our analytics.
Server logs
Our host records standard technical information when a page is served, including your IP address and browser type. This is ordinary web-server logging used for security and diagnosing faults, and we do not use it to identify individual visitors.
Browser storage
The site stores one item in your browser's session storage, named fb-analytics-queue. It briefly holds analytics events if the tracker has not finished loading, so no statistics are lost. It contains nothing personal and your browser discards it when you close the tab. No cookies are set.
Who else handles your information
We keep this list as short as we can. Only two other companies are involved:
- Netlify
- Hosts the website and receives enquiry form submissions, which are stored in our account there and emailed to us. See the Netlify privacy policy.
- Umami
- Provides the anonymous page statistics described above. See the Umami privacy policy.
Beyond those, we may share your details with a subcontractor or supplier where it is genuinely needed to quote or carry out your project — for example passing a site address to a concrete supplier. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not turn into a project are kept for up to two years, in case you come back to us. Records for projects we actually build are kept for as long as we need them for warranty, tax, and legal reasons, which is typically seven years after completion. Anonymous statistics are kept indefinitely, because they contain nothing that identifies you.
Your choices
- Ask what we hold. Contact us and we will tell you what we have from you and send you a copy.
- Ask us to correct it. If something is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
- Ask us to delete it. We will, unless we are required to keep it for a contract we have with you or for tax or legal reasons — in which case we will say so and explain why.
- Stop hearing from us. Tell us and we will stop contacting you.
- Block the statistics. Any tracker blocker or a browser Do Not Track setting will stop the analytics script loading. The site works exactly the same either way.
Children
This site is aimed at people commissioning building work and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or who processes it, we will update this page and change the date at the top. There is no version history, so if the specifics matter to you, keep your own copy.
